The Basic Idea

Score exactly 13 runs — win the pot.

Each player is assigned a matchup — two MLB teams paired together for the season - each week of the MLB season. If either team in your matchup scores exactly 13 runs in any game during your week, you win.

The Pot

The pot starts at $150 per week. If nobody hits 13 in a given week, that $150 carries over and adds to the next week's pot.

A long scoring drought can push the pot to $300, $450, or beyond — making late-season weeks especially dramatic.

If multiple players hit 13 in the same week, the pot is split equally. A player earns a potion of the pot for every hit in a week. It is not too uncommon for a player to hit twice or more in a single week.

Slots & Matchup Rotation

There are 15 players and 15 fixed MLB matchup pairs. At the start of the season, each player is randomly assigned to a postiion in the list (1–15) using a Fisher-Yates random shuffle technique.

Your slot position in the list determines which matchup you play each week via a round-robin rotation. Over 15 weeks every player cycles through all 15 matchups exactly once — then the rotation repeats for the second half of the season.

In any given week all 15 matchups are covered, each by exactly one player. You stay in your slot for the entire 2026 season.

Season Structure

Final Week Rule

If no team scores exactly 13 in the final week of the season, the pot is awarded to the player whose assigned team scored the most runs that week — ensuring the pot is always paid out before the season ends.

The 15 Matchup Pairs

These team pairings are fixed for the season. Names are updated if a team renames (e.g., Indians → Guardians), but the pairings themselves never change.
